SLWC is dedicated to preserving and advancing the art of wildlife carving and duck call making
A few years ago, we made a promise to our festival patrons, vendors, collectors, and artists alike: to keep pushing the boundaries and shine a spotlight on Louisiana Folk Art by creating new opportunities for everyone involved. Through collaborations with the Delta Waterfowl South Chapter and appearances at local events, we’ve been fulfilling that promise. But our work is far from over — we’re actively seeking new partners and projects to continue elevating Louisiana Folk artists.
With that in mind, we’re excited to announce our latest collaboration with American Sporting Auctions. This partnership will highlight Louisiana-specific artists and their work, bringing our rich cultural heritage to the national stage. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Mike Martin and his team at American Sporting Auctions for making this opportunity possible. Stay tuned as we bring this exciting project to life in the coming months!
Our Mission
To promote and encourage the heritage of South Louisiana, promote the talents of carvers, encourage the art of wildlife carving and to raise funds for the preservation of the art form.
South Louisiana Wildfowl Carvers, SLWC, is a 501 (c)(3) pdf> and is classified as a public charity by the IRS. All funds raised by SLWC are used exclusively to support and host our annual festival, which highlights the talents of wildlife carvers and duck call makers. All board members, committee members, and division coordinators serve on a voluntary basis, and no one receives compensation. Our mission is to responsibly invest the funds we raise to promote and recognize our participants’ talents while ensuring the continued success and growth of future events.
